There seems to be a lot of attention being paid to crafts at the moment – from Kirstie Allsopp’s ‘Handmade Britain’ to the V&A’s exhibition ‘Power of Making’. I have been ressurecting my old skill of quilling after finding my quilling tool and also turning my hand to making jam for the first time. Results illustrated above in the photograph of my quince jelly. Recommend making quince jelly (1lb sugar to 1pt quince juice with the juice of a lemon) and spreading over yummy scones. Last night I tried out the scone recipe featured on Kirstie’s Handmade Britain (recipe by Richard Hunt of the Grand Hotel, Torquay). Buttermilk is now a staple in my fridge!
